Ladbrokes’s New Chairman

Ladbrokes has announced a change in the board. The long–time Chairman of the company, Sir Ian Robinson is stepping down in the spring of 2009. He has appointed Peter Erskine as the company’s new chairman. Erskine will take over the position on May 15, 2009. Ladbrokers is a UK based land and online casino gambling group. They started out in the land bookmaking industry and nowadays the company is operating in a wide range of sectors both on land and in the internet.

Sir Robinson has lead the company through major strategy changes during the last eight years. Under his chairmanship Ladbrokes has gone into online casino gambling industry and has launched the brand also into new and emerging markets. Ladbrokes has been able to gain a firm position the online casino industry.

Their start in launching into the internet sector of the gambling industry didn’t take place quickly. Like few other big UK land bookies Ladbrokers start in the sector was sluggish. Luckily, Ladbrokers had a sight of the big growth potential in the internet gambling and they launched the well known Ladbrokers brand onto an online casino gambling site in order to have strong holding in the internet poker gambling industry.

Ladbrokers operates now in both Italy and Spain in addition to the holdings with the UK market. The company’s position in market is solid and it continues the growth. The new chairman, Erskine, has been working successfully in related industries.
